Custom order: The Walking Dead

For the people who have never seen The Walking Dead, this gift set could be a little confusing. You might wonder what "Don't dead, open inside?" means. Fans of the thrilling tv series The Walking Dead know that it says "Don't open, dead inside". This gift set was made for a big fan, don't worry, we didn't really put zombies in this box. The Walking Dead
In short the Walking Dead is a TV series on how to escape and survive a zombie apocalypse. One of the episodes take place in a hospital, where somebody locked some zombies (the Dead) behind doors using a bar and a chain. We used this well known scene as inspiration for our gift set.

How we've made it

First we found the perfect wooden chest and did the standard sanding and priming. We painted the outside light grey and the doors cream white, and stained the whole box. With metallic silver paint we added plates underneath the door handles and the bottom of the door, to make it look like the hospital doors from the episode. We painted the words "don't open, dead inside" and added the door handles.

The inside of this box has 3 shelves, we painted and stained them the same way we did the outside. Of course, blood stains was added to the doors and shelves.

To finish the box we added a bar through the door handles, and a chain to keep the doors in place. The recipient loves chocolate, so we filled it with Ferrero Rocher, cherry chocolates and chocolate bars. This small cupboard is the perfect place to hide your secret chocolate stash!
